Union, N.J. (10/24/24) – The Kean University women's volleyball team improved to 4-2 in conference play with a straight set win over Ramapo College on Thursday evening.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
Tied at 13-all in the first set, the Cougars (14-10) used a five-point spurt to push ahead for good. Kean received blocks from Cayley Elena Morrison, Aspen O'Brien and Taylor Micheaux with Micheaux adding a kill in the run. Kean closed out the set with four straight points.
The Cougars led from start to finish in the second stanza, scoring 10 of the last 11 points of the frame. KU collected six kills and two aces in span.
The third set repeated similar to set two as Kean led wire-to-wire in cruising to the win.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
Micheaux led all players with 16 kills while hitting .419. She added five digs.
O'Brien, Kalea Miller and Danielle Suter combined for setting duties and total 36 for the evening.
Aubre Adams and Alondra Sanjurjo Mercado had seven and six kills respectively as Mercado was a perfect six-for-six.
