UNION, N.J. (11/16/24) – Three players finished in double figures as the Kean University men's basketball team dropped their home opener to #22 NYU, 76-58 on Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED!!!

• D.J. Alicea poured in 10 points during a back-and-forth opening stanza.
• Neither side held larger than a five-point lead in the first half.
• The Cougars cut the lead to 29-27 with three minutes to play.
• NYU closed the half with a 5-0 run that included a Tristan How jumper with 56 seconds remaining.
• The Violets opened the second half on a 12-5 run that pushed their advantage to 46-32.
• After Kean cut the lead down to nine, the Violets regained control and finished with a double-digit victory.
