GALLOWAY, N.J. (11/26/24) – Adam Silas and D.J. Alicea combined for 58 points as the Kean University men's basketball team dropped their New Jersey Athletic Conference opener to Stockton University, 94-87 on Tuesday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED!!!

• Silas and Alicea combined for 28 points as the Cougars and Ospreys were deadlocked at 39 entering the half.
• Kean opened on a 9-4 run.
• Silas notched 10 points as the Cougars extended their lead to the largest of the game at 22-13.
• The free throw line helped Stockton stay within striking distance as the Ospreys went 14-for-19 over the final 12 minutes of the opening stanza.
• The second half saw neither side hold larger than a six-point lead over 14 minutes.
• Silas and Alicea combined for 22 points as the Cougars trailed 76-74 with 5:48 remaining.
• Stockton closed on a 16-8 run, which pushed their lead to double digits with under a minute to play.

INSIDE THE BOX

• Alicea finished with a career-high 30 points, along with a career-high 11 free throws made.
• Silas totaled 28 points, including four triples.
