Men Basketball Earns First NJAC Victory with Defeat of Ramapo

MAHWAH, N.J. (12/4/24) – Three players finished in double-figures as the Kean University men's basketball team earned their first New Jersey Athletic Conference victory with a 69-64 decision over Ramapo College on Wednesday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED!!!
  • Adam Silas scored 13 points as the Cougars trailed 35-33 at the intermission.
  • A back and forth first half saw neither side hold larger than a five-point lead.
  • Ramapo shot above 50% from both the floor and downtown.
  • The second half saw Kean open with a 19-7 run to push their advantage to double digits.
  • D.J. Alicea notched 12 points during the run.
  • The Roadrunners answered with a 10-5 run to cut their deficit to 57-54.
  • Kean extended their lead back to double digits with an 8-0 run that included back-to-back triples from Silas and Andrew Turco.
  • Ramapo responded with a 10-4 run, to again, cut the deficit back down to three at 67-64.
  • Turco iced the game from the line with 10 seconds remaining.

  • Alicea totaled 22 points.
  • Silas finished with 18 points and knocked down three triples.
  • Turco notched 12 points.
  • Tyler Spencer posted eight points, three rebounds, three assists and three steals.
  • Trey Harts tallied 10 rebounds and five points.
