Galloway, N.J. (11/26/24) – The Kean University women's basketball team suffered a five-point defeat in the conference opener on Tuesday evening at Stockton University.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
Both teams see-sawed in the first quarter with the Ospreys (4-2, 1-0 NJAC) holding a slight one-point edge after the first 10 minutes.
Stockton then turned things into their favor in the second quarter, outscoring the Cougars, 14-7 to take a 30-22 advantage into the break.
Kean (2-3, 0-1 NJAC) adjusted at the break and scored 13 while holding Stockton to just four to give the advantage back to the Cougars.
Both teams chipped away in the fourth quarter and Stockton took the lead for good with just over five minutes to go.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
Brittany Graff led the Cougars with 17 points while Maya Edwards added 10.
Riley Ahrens finished the night with eight points and nine rebounds.

Kean travels to Ramapo College next Wednesday after the holiday break.
