Mahwah, N.J. (12/4/24) – The Kean University women's basketball team evened both their overall and conference records with a 63-29 victory over Ramapo College on Wednesday evening.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
After a close first quarter, the Cougars (3-3, 1-1 NJAC) exploded in the second stanza, outscoring the Roadrunners, 20-3 to take a 20-point advantage into the break (31-11).
Kean kept up that momentum in the third quarter, again pouring in 20 points while holding Ramapo to single digits (eight).
The Cougars led by as many as 36 on multiple occasions in the final period.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
Thirteen players saw action in the contest.
Kean was led by graduate student Brittany Graff who had a game-high 17 points while adding five steals.
Riley Ahrens added 12 points and four rebounds while Cara McCoy contributed nine points and five rebounds.
Erika Mercedes played 26 minutes off the bench and added seven steals and six rebounds.
