Union, N.J. (2/10/24) – The Kean University women's basketball team never trailed in a 92-60 win over Montclair State University on senior day Saturday afternoon in the final regular season home contest.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
The Cougars (15-9, 12-5 NJAC) used a strong second quarter to push out to a double-digit lead. Kean outscored the Red Hawks 29-13 in the frame. Maddison Vaughn pushed the advantage to 26 with a bucket and one with a minute to go in the first half.
Kean pushed the lead to their biggest margin early in the fourth quarter as Christy Brennan nailed a three-pointer, 89-45.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
Gigi Gamble led all players with 32 points and added six assists, five rebounds, and four steals.
Brittany Graff added a double-double 12 points and 11 assists while bringing down six rebounds.
Shahd Badeer contributed with 13 points, six rebounds, five assists, four blocks and three steals.
Sarah Weber and Vaughn rounded out the double digit scorers with 10 and 11 points respectively.
Olivia Vergo led the Red Hawks (8-16, 5-12 NJAC) with 17 points and seven rebounds.
