Mahwah, N.J. (2/28/24) – The Kean University men's volleyball team defeated host Ramapo College, 3-0, in NJAC action on Wednesday evening.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
Leading in the first set, 19-16, the Cougars (9-9, 1-1 NJAC) rolled off six straight points to close out the frame. Jack Freese provided two kills while Rajheem Meulens added a kill and solo block in the span.
The second set proved similar to the first as Kean held a slim 17-16 advantage before surging for eight straight points to close out the set. Chris Mitchell contributed with two kills while Danny Pugliano added two aces in the run.
Kean battled in what would be the final set in what turned out to be a see-saw affair. Luke Frankenfield ended the night with a kill to close out the match.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
25-16, 25-16, 25-22
Freese recorded nine kills while posting a .900 attack percentage and a solo block.
Michael Henneberry registered seven kills while Meulens had eight.
