UNION, N.J. (3/30/24) – Connor Batjer totaled six points on three goals and three assists as the Kean University men's lacrosse team dropped their Coastal Lacrosse Conference opener to the defending National Champions and top ranked Salisbury University, 22-13 on Senior Day.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Salisbury opened with four straight goals before the Cougars and Sea Gulls traded goals to close the quarter.
- Jonathan Slusser, Batjer, Porter and Johnson all scored as the Cougars cut the lead to 7-4 late in the first.
- Johnson and Hunter Jenkinson were the lone goal scorers in the second as Salisbury notched four straight to push their lead to 13-6 at halftime.
- The Sea Gulls extended their lead to 18-7 entering the fourth behind five straight.
- In the fourth, Johnson, Batjer, Nick Thorne and Trevor Foss all scored for the Cougars as Kean cracked double digits goals and outscored Salisbury
