MONTCLAIR, N.J. (4/17/24) – Dylan Johnson totaled seven points on five goals and two assists as the Kean University men's lacrosse team earned their first-ever Coastal Lacrosse Conference regular season victory with a 16-12 defeat of Montclair State University on Wednesday evening.
HOW IT HAPPENED!!!
- Johnson tallied five of his seven points during an even first half that saw Kean hold an 8-7 advantage at halftime.
- After trading goals, Kean extended their lead to the largest of the half when Johnson connected with Nick Thorne for an 8-6 lead with 2:38 remaining.
- The Cougars outscored the Red Hawks 6-3 in the third, including another two goals from Johnson.
- Kean took a four goal lead into the fourth after Christian Updale and Drew Tucker posted goals inside the final 30 seconds.
- Connor Batjer assisted on two goals in the final stanza as Kean held MSU scoreless for the final 12:31.
