Men’s Soccer Blanks Hunter in Season Opener; Munoz notches first career coaching victory.

MADISON, N.J. (8/30/24) – A goal in each half lifted the Kean University men's soccer team to a 2-0 shutout victory over Hunter College in the Drew Fall Festival. In the victory, Head Coach Jairo Munoz earned his first career victory as a college coach.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Kean broke through early when Jamie Madrid notched his first goal as a Cougar off an Alejandro Venereo assisted ball in the 10th minute.
  • The Cougars added an insurance goal in the 77th minute when Venereo scored in the upper 90 off a feed from Ilyas Jaber.
INSIDE THE BOX
  • Madrid notched four shots, while Marvin Munoz Garcia Jr. recorded three.
  • Dominic Ridge made eight saves in goal.
  • Kean held the advantage on shots (18-11) and corner kicks (7-3).
