Harrison, N.Y. (9/24/24) – The Kean University women's volleyball team roared back from a 2-0 deficit to defeat host Manhattanville University, 3-2, on Tuesday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
Kean fell into a 2-0 hole by identical set scores to open the match.
The Cougars were in another early hole again to start the third (9-2), but chipped away enough to keep things within reach. Trailing 23-18, Kean surged with a 6-0 run to take a 24-23 lead. From there it was a back and forth battle with Kean pulling through with back-to-back kills from Cayley Elena Morrison and Aubre Adams to force a fourth set.
Kean never trailed in the fourth set, using the momentum from the thrilling third set, setting up the winner-take-all fifth frame.
Trailing 3-2 early, the Cougars rode the serve of Alison Kowalewski and registered eight straight points to cap off the rally.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
Anne Marie Beckemeyer tied a single game record with 11 assisted blocks and fell one short of her own record of total blocks in a game. She finished the night with 12. Beckemeyer also added 15 kills with no errors, good for a total of 23.5 points.
Morrison was back in action and added 13 kills while hitting .458. She recorded five blocks.
Taylor Micheaux contributed with 13 kills, five blocks and nine digs.
Kowalewski had a double-double with 11 kills and 12 digs. She also registered three aces.
Aspen O'Brien picked up a season-high 49 assists and tallied 14 digs and seven blocks.

The Cougars enjoy a week off and will open up NJAC play next Tuesday at William Paterson University.
