Montclair, N.J. (1/18/25) – The Kean University women's basketball team suffered a 75-60 loss to host Montclair State University on Saturday afternoon in NJAC action.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
It was a see-saw affair over the first 20 minutes as the teams battled to a 38-all deadlock. Kean shot 61% overall in the first half while also shooting 50% from behind the arc.
Montclair (13-3, 7-2 NJAC) shot 50% in the first 20 minutes.
The Red Hawks then accelerated out of the intermission, pushing to a quick double-digit lead off an 11-0 run. MSU outscored the Cougars 23-10 in the quarter.
Kean was able to cut the deficit down to single digits twice in the third quarter, but were not able to overcome Montclair's momentum down the stretch.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
Brittany Graff led three players in double-digits as she finished with 15 points and three rebounds. Maya Edwards ended the afternoon with 14 points while Cara McCoy added 10.
