WAYNE, N.J. (1/8/25) – Four players scored in double figures as the Kean University men's basketball team opened 2025 with a 91-59 wire-to-wire victory over William Paterson on Wednesday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED!!!

• The Cougars opened the game on a 16-6 run, including holding the Pioneers scoreless for the first three minutes.
• Kean remained in the driver's seat for the rest of the half as the Cougars extended their lead to 40-21 with 4:44 to play.
• D.J. Alicea and Ethan Stith combined for 14 first half points.
•  Seven Cougars tallied at least five points in the opening stanza.
• The second half was more of the same as the Cougars hot shooting pushed their advantage to 30 points.
• Andrew Turco notched 11 points and Stith added nine as Kean took their then largest lead of the game at 86-55 with 4:22 remaining.
• The Cougars knocked down eight triples in the second stanza.

INSIDE THE BOX

• Turco totaled 16 points, seven rebounds and five steals.
• Stith posted a season-high 16 points, seven rebounds and three assists.
• Alicea notched 15 points and four rebounds.
• Phil Brown Jr. recorded 13 points and nine rebounds.
