Wayne, N.J. (1/8/25) – The Kean University women's basketball team fell to host William Paterson University in their first NJAC contest of the new year.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
The Cougars (5-8, 2-4 NJAC) and Pioneers (9-4, 5-1 NJAC) tied after the first 10 minutes of action.
WP edged Kean in the second quarter, as they headed into the break with a 33-26 advantage.
The Pioneers then put the game out of reach in the third stanza, outscoring Kean, 17-4.
The Cougars held William Paterson to just 11 points in the final 10 minutes but it wasn't enough to overcome the deficit.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
Maddison Vaughn led Kean with 12 points while adding five blocks.
Maya Edwards contributed with 11 points and nine rebounds while Brittany Graff added seven points and 10 rebounds.

Kean returns home to face Rutgers-Camden on Saturday at 3 p.m.
