NEW YORK, N.Y. (11/15/25) – Daniel Dextraze finished with 27 points and nine rebounds as the Kean University men's basketball team dropped a non-conference contest to NYU, 70-65 on Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED!!!

• Kean opened with a 19-9 run behind seven points from Kareem Irby.
• The Cougars extended their lead to 26-12 with a Malachi Jeffers-Viera layup with 5:49 remaining.
• The Violets closed the half on a 10-2 run to cut their lead to 30-26 at the half.
• Kean opened the second stanza pushing their lead back to seven at 38-31.
• NYU responded with a 28-11 run behind 14 points from Bryan Moussako, as NYU took their largest lead of the game at 59-48 with 7:22 remaining.
• The Cougars nearly erased the advantage with a 13-3 run that pulled Kean to 62-61 deficit with 3:25 remaining.
• The Violets salted away the game from the foul line, going to 6-6 over the final two minutes.
