Union, N.J. (2/12/25) – Senior Maddison Vaughn recorded a career-high 31 points in a tough 75-68 loss to William Paterson University on Wednesday evening.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
The Cougars (11-12, 8-8 NJAC) led for the entire first half, leading by as many as 16 late in the second quarter as Brittany Graff capped a 10-0 run with a trey (50-34).
William Paterson (16-7, 12-4 NJAC) ended the quarter with five straight points to pull within 11.
The Pioneers took their first lead of the day with 8:03 on the clock in the fourth quarter on a three-pointer from Jade Martinez.
Kean tied things up at 64-all, but were not able to retake the lead down the stretch as WP used the late rally to take the victory.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
Vaughn led all players with her 31-point performance while making it a double-double with 15 rebounds.
Jordyn Keating and Graff each contributed with 12 points and 10 points respectively.
Brianna Smith led the Pioneers with 20 points.
