Camden, N.J. (2/8/25) – The Kean University women's basketball team Improved to 8-7 in league play with a 66-60 win over host Rutgers-Camden on Saturday afternoon.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
After a slow start that saw the Cougars (11-11) trailing by five after the first 10 minutes, Kean responded in the second quarter, outscoring the Scarlet Raptors, 18-8 and taking the lead for good.
The Cougars pushed their advantage out to as many as 16 points midway through the fourth quarter, but Rutgers-Camden rallied late, pulling within four with 28 seconds to go. Erika Mercedes connected for four points from the charity stripe and Jordyn Keating closed things out with two free throws with two seconds to go to help Kean seal the win.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
Maddison Vaughn led all players in both points and rebounds with a double-double 20 points and 15 rebounds.
Mercedes was close behind with 18 points while Brittany Graff added 15 points and eight assists.
