Union, N.J. (3/4/25) – The Kean University baseball team improved to 9-1 with a 4-1 win over SUNY New Paltz on Tuesday afternoon.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
The Hawks (3-3) scratched a single run across in the top of the first as Anthony Pericolosi doubled on the first pitch of the contest. After two strikeouts, Dillon Ristano traded places with him for the quick lead.
The #18 Cougars tied things up in their half of the third as Dominic Masino worked a four pitch walk. After swiping second he would later score on a single from Kyle Adorno.
The quick moving affair would remain at one-all until the seventh when CJ Tomalavage launched his third homerun of the season, a two run shot.
Kean added an insurance run in the eighth on a bases loaded wild pitch.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
Joe Richetti was the only player with a multi-hit day. The Hawk was 2-for-4.
In total, the pitching staffs limited each squad to just five and six hits respectively.
Christian Pareja earned the win. He allowed one run and five hits in seven and a third innings pitched. He also fanned five.
Jason Basilicata recorded his third save of the season. He allowed just one hit and struck out four in one and two thirds innings of work.

Kean heads down south for their first road games of the season. They will face off against North Carolina Wesleyan for a three-game set beginning on Friday.
