PITMAN, N.J. (5/1/25) – The Kean University baseball team collected four major awards along with nine All-Conference selections as announced by the conference office on Friday.
Kyle Adorno has been named the New Jersey Athletic Conference Bill DioGuardi Player of the Year, while
Jason Gilman has been tabbed the Pitcher of the Year.
Jason Basilicata earned Fireman of the Year, while
Neil Ioviero and his staff were selected the Jeff Albies Coaching Staff of the Year.
Adorno and Gilman were first team selections with
Tyler Stone and
CJ Tomalavage.
John Chiusano,
Brett Hilsheimer and
Dominic Masino were all second team selections.
Christian Pareja and
Nick Sellari were honorable mention selections.
Adorno collects the conference's top honor and his third All-Conference selection after hitting .405 with 30 hits, 27 runs, 18 RBI's, 10 stolen bases, four doubles, four triples and one homerun over 18 conference games. He becomes the 11
th Player of the Year selection in program history joining current assistant coach

Herman Diaz (1981). The senior also becomes the first player in program history to capture both the NJAC Player and Rookie of the Year awards. Adorno earned first team honors in 2024 and was named to the second team, while capturing Rookie of the Year honors in 2022.
Gilman collects the conference's top honor for a pitcher and his second All-Conference selection after compiling a 1.47 ERA with 47 strikeouts and a 5-0 record over 36 2/3 innings in conference play. The senior becomes the ninth Pitcher of the Year selection, joining

Rich Stroka (1988). Gilman earns his first selection on the first team after being named to the second team in 2024. During the season, Gilman was a three-time NJAC Pitcher of the Week selection.
Basilicata collects the conference's top honor for a relief pitcher after compiling a 0.73 ERA with 11 strikeouts, a 2-0 record and three saves over 12 1/3 innings in conference play. He becomes the fourth Fireman of the Year selection, joining
Richie Ferguson (2015) and
Brandon Aich (2009, 2008). During the season, Basilicata was a one-time NJAC Pitcher of the Week selection.
Coach Ioviero and his staff collect the conference's top honor on the coaching side. The coaching staff guided the Cougars to a 17-1 record in the NJAC, a regular season title and the top seed in the NJAC Tournament. The Kean coaching staff takes home their first Coaching Staff of the Year award, joining Coach Ioviero's six previous Coach of the Year honors (2005, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2016, 2019).
Stone makes his second All-Conference appearance with his second straight selection on the first team. The junior hit .452 with 33 hits, 22 runs, 17 RBI's, eight doubles, five stolen bases, two triples and one homerun over 18 conference games.
Tomalavage makes his first All-Conference appearance with his first team selection. The senior hit .403 with 25 hits, 22 RBI's, 16 runs, six doubles and six homeruns over 18 conference games. The senior was a one-time Player of the Week selection.
Chiusano makes his first All-Conference appearance with his second team selection. The sophomore hit .436 with 17 hits, 15 RBI's, 10 runs scored, three homeruns and two doubles over 12 conference games.
Hilsheimer makes his third All-Conference appearance with his second team selection. The senior hit .323 with 20 hits, 12 RBI's, 12 runs, six doubles, and four stolen bases over 18 conference games. The senior was an honorable mention selection in both 2024 and 2023.
Masino makes his first All-Conference appearance with his second team selection. The sophomore hit .382 with 26 hits, 16 runs, 14 RBI's, six stolen bases, four triples and three doubles over 18 conference games.
Pareja makes his first All-Conference appearance with his honorable mention selection. The junior complied a 1.67 ERA with 29 strikeouts and a 3-0 record over 32 1/3 conference innings pitched.
Sellari makes his first All-Conference appearance with his honorable mention selection. The sophomore hit .339 with 19 hits, 14 runs, 13 RBI's, 12 stolen bases and three doubles over 18 conference games.
