UNION, N.J. (9/23/25) – A lone first quarter goal proved to be the difference as the SUNY New Paltz Hawks earned a 1-0 victory over the Kean University field hockey team on Tuesday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED!!!

• New Paltz scored on their second shot as Rachel Tama stole a loose ball from a Cougar defender and blasted in a turning shot at the right post.

INSIDE THE BOX

• The Hawks led on shots (21-8), shots on goal (11-2) and penalty corners (8-6).
• Shannon Conroy and Sophia Candeloro recorded three shots apiece.
• Daniella Maresca made nine saves.
