Men’s Hoops Falls to Unbeaten Montclair State

UNION, N.J. (1/17/26) – Four players finished in double-figures as the Kean University men's basketball team dropped a high scoring affair to the unbeaten and nationally-ranked Montclair State University Red Hawks, 106-94 on Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED!!!
  • The Red Hawks opened on an 11-2 run after knocking down three triples.
  • Kean responded with a 7-0 run to cut the lead to 11-9 behind five points from Daniel Dextraze.
  • After trading buckets, MSU would go into the locker room with nearly a 20-point lead behind a 33-15 run.
  • Kunga Tsering and Ryan Cassels combined for 16 points during the run.
  • The second half saw Kean trade twos for threes with the Red Hawks.
  • Kean shot 62.9% from the floor, while the Red Hawks hit nine from downtown for a 64.3% three point percentage.
  • The Cougars would get as close as 10 points in the second stanza with Kareem Irby pouring in 19 second half points.
