WILKES BARRE, Pa. (1/17/26) – Chris Mitchell posted 21 kills over two matches as the Kean University men's volleyball team opened the 2026 season with straight sets sweeps of King's (Pa.) and Cairn University on Saturday afternoon.

Kean 3, King's (Pa.) 0

• The Cougars swept the host Monarchs with a .279 hitting percentage.
• Chris Mitchell finished with 16 kills, including 10 kills in the opening set victory.
• Despite the sweep, Kean and Kings committed 14 errors apiece.
• King's notched 11 service errors in the loss.
• Aidan Flinn finished with 11 kills.
• David Flores totaled 32 assists.
• Tyler Quinn collected 23 digs.

Kean 3, Cairn 0

• The Cougars rolled in game two, sweeping winless Cairn with a .397 hitting percentage.
• Kean posted 42 kills on 78 swings and hit north of .250 in each of the three sets.
• The Cougars combined for 13 aces in the victory.
• Kean spread around the offense as Wady Duran, Vaughn Turner and Jake Spring all recorded six kills apiece.
• Carson Cruver, Flores and Jeremy Rivera all notched double-digit assists.
• Quinn totaled 10 digs.
