WAYNE, N.J. (2/11/26) – Malachi Jeffers-Viera totaled 22 points and seven rebounds as the Kean University men's basketball team dropped a New Jersey Athletic Conference contest to William Paterson University, 71-67 on Wednesday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED!!!

• Jeffers-Viera totaled 14 first half points as neither side held larger than a six points advantage.
• Jeffers-Viera knocked down a jumper with three seconds remaining to send Kean into the locker room with a 34-30 halftime deficit.
• After trading buckets to open the second stanza, the Pioneers extended their lead to double figures at 56-44 behind a 12-6 run.
• The Cougars answered with a 23-9 run to regain the lead at 67-65 with 1:38 to play on a Braelen Crump triple.
• Crump's bucket would be the last field goal as the Cougars only took one shot in the final 98 seconds.
