Mitchell Breaks Single Match Record in Sweep of Ramapo

MAHWAH, N.J. (2/26/26) – Chris Mitchell broke the single match record for attacking percentage as the Kean University men's volleyball team earned a 3-0 straight sets sweep of Ramapo College in a New Jersey Athletic Conference contest on Thursday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED!!!
  • The Cougars dominated set one, holding the Roadrunners to a -.057 hitting percentage in the 25-16 victory.
  • Mitchell and Danny Pugliano combined for seven kills and no errors.
  • Mitchell hit a staggering .833 hitting percentage with 10 kills in a 25-23 set two victory that saw nine ties and two lead changes.
  • The final set proved to be more like set one as the Cougars dominated their way to a 25-17 victory.
  • Aidan Flinn, Mitchell, Pugliano and Caden Krzyzak all posted no errors in the set.
INSIDE THE BOX
  • Mitchell finished with 18 kills, no errors and a .783 hitting percentage.
  • Krzyzak totaled seven kills and three block assists.
  • David Flores handed out 29 assists.
  • Tyler Quinn notched 10 digs.
RECORD BOOK UPDATE
  • Mitchell broke a record set by Stephen Reynolds on Feb. 29th, 2020.
  • In a sweep of then CVC opponent Immaculata University, Reynolds finished with 15 kills, no errors and a .750 hitting percentage.
  • In a side note, Mitchell is now six kills away from 1,000 for his career.
