Men’s Volleyball Splits Matches with Aurora and Baldwin-Wallace at Cal Lu

THOUSAND OAKS, CALIF. (3/9/26) – The Kean University men's volleyball team split matches with Aurora University and Baldwin Wallace on the final day of Cal Lu Fornia Invitational on Monday.

Aurora 3, Kean 2
  • Kean took set one with a .444 hitting percentage and just one error in the 25-20 victory.
  • Vaughn Turner, Aidan Flinn, Sean Murphy and Chris Mitchell all went errorless in the set.
  • Aurora responded with a .500 hitting percentage and just one error in the 25-22 loss.
  • Despite the loss, Mitchell and Flinn combined for 11 kills.
  • Kean would capture set three as Murphy tallied five kills in a set that saw six ties and four lead changes.
  • Mitchell added another four kills in the set four loss as Kean was held to a .094 hitting percentage and forced a fifth set.
  • In the deciding set, the Spartans held the Cougars to a negative hitting percentage.
  • Mitchell finished with 15 kills and 10 digs.
  • David Flores totaled 40 assists and 11 digs.
  • Flinn collected 17 digs.
Kean 3, Baldwin Wallace 2
  • The Cougars rallied from a 2-0 deficit to knock off the #18 Baldwin Wallace in five sets.
  • After dropping the first two sets, the Cougars took a tight third set that saw 17 ties and eight lead changes.
  • Mitchell added five kills in tight set four.
  • Kean held BW to a negative hitting percentage in the deciding set.
  • Mitchell totaled 14 kills.
  • Murphy posted 13 digs and 10 kills.
  • Flores handed out 42 assists.
