Union, N.J. (3/24/26) – Misericordia University won the battle of the Cougars, 10-8, on Tuesday afternoon.
The see-saw battle saw a combined 29 hits and scoring in all but two innings.
Misericordia (13-7) jumped on top with three runs in their first at-bat with four hits.
Kean responded with two of their own in the bottom of the same frame as Dominic Masino and Justin Teixeira started things off with back-to-back doubles and Teixeira later scored on a sac fly.
Kean took the lead in the third with two runs before Misericordia tied things with a single run in the fourth.
KU pushed ahead 7-4 in the fifth, all with two outs. Jude Clough (double), Tyler Stone (single) and Dan Reistle (single) all collected RBI in the inning.
MU pulled within one in the sixth before taking the lead in the seventh on two unearned runs.
Clough tied things up for Kean in the bottom of the seventh with a solo homer to lead off the inning.
Misericordia took the lead for good in the ninth using three singles and a walk.
Clough was 3-for-4 with four RBI and two runs scored while Masino was 3-for-4 with two runs scored in the leadoff spot. Teixeira and Reistle each finished with two hits.
Kean returns to action on Thursday when they travel to Alvernia.
