Newark, N.J. (4/16/26) – The Cougars pounded out 26 runs and 19 hits on their way to defeating Rutgers-Newark, 26-17.
After trailing early in the contest, Kean used a nine-run fifth inning to take the lead for good.
Every starter had a hit in the contest with Dominic Masino leading the way with four (4-for-5) with three walks, six RBI and five runs scored. He added a homer, a two run shot, in the ninth.
Justin Teixeira also picked up six RBI with three hits, including a triple.
Cole McGourty was 3-for-5 with two RBI while Brett Hilsheimer was 2-for-4 with five runs scored and an RBI.
The same two teams will square off again tomorrow at Jim Hynes Stadium.
