Collegeville, Pa. (4/20/26) – The Kean University baseball team won the see-saw battle against Ursinus College by the final of 7-6 on Monday afternoon in their final non-conference regular season game.
After taking an early 1-0 lead, the teams traded two runs each in their next at-bats with Justin Teixeira providing the two RBI single for the Cougars.
The Bears regained the lead in the bottom of the fifth with two RBI singles for a 4-3 advantage.
Jude Clough swung the pendulum back to Kean with a two RBI double in the seventh and Tyler Stone added one more with an RBI sacrifice.
Ursinus tied things up in the eighth on a two RBI single in the gap (6-6).
Stone lofted a sac fly in the ninth for the go-ahead run and Cole McGourty worked around a leadoff walk, picking off the runner and collecting to fly balls to earn the win.
Clough was 3-for-5 with two RBI while Teixeira was 2-for-4 with three runs scored and two RBI. Stone registered three RBI.
McGourty earned the win in relief. He allowed no earned runs and two hits while striking out two and walking one in four innings of work.
Kean hosts Rutgers-Camden on Thursday in their last regular season home contest of the season.
