Stockton Rallies Past Softball

Union, N.J. (4/21/26) – Stockton used two late rallies to push past the Kean University softball team by the finals of 6-4 and 8-4 on Tuesday afternoon.

Stockton 6, Kean 4 (Game One)

With two outs in the top of the first, Emily Clauss and Camryn Harry recorded back-to-back doubles to give the Ospreys a 2-0 lead.

The Cougars went ahead with a four-run fourth inning.  The first four Cougars to bat each recorded singles as Rielynn Carey and Samantha Raymond recorded RBI.  Nikki Lusnia gave Kean the lead with an RBI groundout and Morgan Boyd added one more with an RBI single of her own.

Stockton answered right back in the top of the fifth as Caitlin Cetrulo lined a three-run homer off the scoreboard.  The Ospreys added insurance with a single run in the sixth.

The Cougars had two runners aboard with one out in the bottom of the seventh, but a line out at the wall turned into a double play to end the threat.

Morgan Boyd had two hits in the opener.

Stockton 8, Kean 4 (Game Two)

The Ospreys took an early lead again in the nightcap, putting up three runs in the first inning, highlighted by a two RBI single from Casey Sokol.

Kean cut into the deficit as Maddie Cerami connected on her first homer of the season in the second inning, a two-run shot.

The Cougars took the lead in the third as Gina Mahlik doubled home two for a 4-3 lead.

Stockton tied things up at four-all in the fourth as Regan Mendick registered a two out, RBI single.

The Ospreys again used two-out magic as Cetrulo recorded her second homer of the day, this time a two run shot to push ahead 6-4.

Stockton added insurance in the seventh as Sokol drove in two with a single down the line.

Natalie Stannard was 2-for-3 for Kean.

The Cougars close out the regular season on Saturday when they travel to Rutgers-Camden.
