Camden, N.J. (4/24/26) – The Kean University baseball team used a four-run sixth inning to push past Rutgers-Camden, 7-4, on Friday afternoon.
Kean struck first with a single run in the first inning. With two outs and two runners aboard, Cole McGourty collected an RBI single.
Rutgers-Camden answered back with three runs in the second, recording four singles and a hit batter.
The score would remain that way until the sixth when the Cougars loaded the bases with two singles and a hit batter. JT Abrusci tied the game with a two RBI single and Dan Reistle gave Kean the lead with a two RBI double.
The Scarlet Raptors pulled within one in the seventh as Michael McGinley doubled to lead off. A sacrifice moved him to third and a groundout pushed him across the plate.
Kean added insurance in the eight as Dominic Masino homered to left and McGourty registered an RBI single with two outs.
Tyler Stone was 4-for-4 while McGourty was 3-for-4 with two RBI.
Christian Pareja (4-1) earned the win with the complete game effort. He allowed seven hits and one walk with three strikeouts.
Kean faces TCNJ on Sunday in doubleheader action.
