Union, N.J. (4/6/26) – Ramapo College used an eight run eighth inning to rally past the Kean University baseball team by the final of 12-7 on Monday afternoon in a makeup contest.
The Roadrunners got two runs in the first aided by two walks and three wild pitches.
Kean got one back in the second as Tyler Stone led off with a double and scored one batter later as John Chiusano singled him home.
The score would remain that way until the fifth as Kean took the lead with three runs on four hits. The Cougars added one more in the sixth after Nick Sellari led off with a double, swiped third and crossed the plate on a Dominic Masino sac fly.
Ramapo cut the deficit to one in the sixth as Eric Knapp lofted a two-run homer.
Justin Teixeira led off the eighth with a single and later scored on a wild pitch to give Kean a two-run advantage (6-4).
The Roadrunners then took advantage of some well-placed bloop hits that led to a rally of eight runs on seven hits total.
Kean was able to get one back in the top of the ninth, but was not able to overcome the deficit.
Teixeira was 3-for-5 with two runs scored while Sellari was 3-for-4 with two doubles.
Kean hosts Messiah University on Tueday.
