Union, N.J. (4/7/26) – The Cougars used two three-run innings to pull past Messiah University, 7-3, on Tuesday afternoon.
Cristian Reyna gave Messiah an early lead (1-0) in their first at-bat, but Tyler Stone responded with a solo blast in the second inning to even things up at one-all.
Kean then took the lead for good in the fifth as Dan Reistle connected on an RBI double while Dominic Masino recorded an RBI single.
The Falcons (17-9) got one back in the sixth but Reistle came through again in the bottom of the same inning with a two RBI single. Nick Sellari rounded the scoring for Kean with an RBI single of his own.
Reyna added one more for Messiah in the eighth on a sac fly.
Reistle was 3-for-4 with three RBI and two runs scored while Stone was 2-for-4 with two runs scored.
Sean DuBois (1-0) earned the win. He allowed just two runs in five and two thirds innings. He fanned seven and walked one. Cole McGourty earned his first save of the year after throwing the final three and a third innings. He did not allow a hit or walk and struck out three.
Kean returns to NJAC action on Thursday when they host Montclair State University.
