Lusnia Tosses Perfect Game as Softball Sweeps NJCU

Jersey City, N.J. (4/7/26) – Nikki Lusnia tossed the third perfect game in program history as the Kean University softball team swept New Jersey City University, 10-0 and 11-3, both in five innings on Tuesday afternoon in NJAC action.

Kean 10, NJCU 0 (Game One – 5 innings)

The Cougars plated four runs in their first at bat, highlighted by an RBI double by Kiley Allen and a two RBI double from Rielynn Carey.

Kean added two more in the second and three more in the third.  Samantha Raymond lofted a three-run homer to put the Cougars ahead 9-0.

Lusnia rounded out the scoring, helping her own cause with a sac fly in the fifth.

Lusnia recorded three flyouts, two infield lineouts and struck out 10.  She becomes the second player to pitch a perfect game in Cougar history behind Courtney Yard who registered two in 2014 and 2015.

Kean 11, NJCU 3 (Game Two – 5 innings)

The Cougars exploded for eight runs in the third inning to propel to the sweep.  Highlighting the inning was a two RBI double from Morgan Boyd and two RBI triple from Ashley Weber.  Kean added two more in the fourth, including a solo homer from Raymond, her second homerun of the afternoon.

Raymond earned the win in the circle allowing no earned runs and five hits.  She fanned six and walked no one.

Kean returns to NJAC action on Saturday when they travel to William Paterson University.
