INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (5/11/26) – The #16 Kean University baseball team earned their 16th selection into the NCAA Tournament with an at-large berth. The Cougars will travel to Medford, Massachusetts in a pod hosted by the Jumbos of Tufts University. The pod also includes the Stags of Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Colleges and the Mariners of Mitchell College.
The double-elimination tournament kicks off on Friday with Kean facing C-M-S at 2:30 pm and Tufts squaring off with Mitchell at 11:00 a.m.
The Cougars went 12-6 in league play and had an early exit from the NJAC Tournament. Kean finished at #28 in the NPI rankings as Head Coach
Neil Ioviero guided the Cougars to 29 wins.
Lucas White was named NJAC Pitcher of the Year along with five All-NJAC selections.
#15 C-M-S lost in the SCIAC title game to Pomona-Pitzer, 10-8. Alex Henderson and Rider Gordon combined for three homeruns and five RBI's. Bryce Didrickson went 2-for-4 with two runs scored for the Stags who were ranked #37 in the final NPI rankings.
Tufts won their eighth NESCAC title with an 16-8 victory over Amherst. James Henshon went 3-for-3 with four runs scored and four RBI's. Tom Pender went 3-for-5 with two runs scored for the Jumbos who were ranked #8 in the final NPI rankings.
Mitchell dominated the GNAC tournament with an 18-5 championship victory over Saint Joseph's (ME). Chas Terni Jr. went 3-for-4 with a grand slam, six RBI's and two runs scored. Ryan Dennis finished 3-for-5 with four runs scored and two RBI's for the Mariners who were ranked #67 in the final NPI rankings.
