LOUISVILLE, Ky. (5/15/26) - The Kean University softball team had five Cougars placed on the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) Region IV teams.
Gina Mahlik was named to the first team, while
Rielynn Carey,
Brianna Sciulli, Nikki Lusnia and
Samantha Raymond were all third team selections.
Mahlik earns her first Region IV selection after hitting .423 with 47 hits, 27 RBI's, 22 runs scored, nine doubles and two triples. The sophomore posted a .541 slugging and a .515 on-base percentage as she was named an All-NJAC second team selection.
Carey earns her first Region IV selection after hitting .345 with 41 hits, 25 RBI's, 21 runs scored, 10 doubles and one triple. The freshman posted a .445 slugging and a .374 on-base percentage as she was named an All-NJAC first team selection.
Sciulli earns her first Region IV selection after hitting .389 with 51 hits, 36 runs scored, 21 stolen bases, 11 RBI's and three triples. The senior posted a .435 slugging and a .420 on-base percentage as she was named an All-NJAC second team selection.
Lusnia earns her first Region IV selection after posting a 2.71 ERA with 145 strikeouts and 15 victories over 137 innings pitched. The senior also hit .274 at the plate with 23 hits, 21 RBI's, 10 runs scored and one double.
Raymond earns her first Region IV selection after hitting .314 with 27 hits, 25 RBIs, 15 runs scored, seven doubles and five homeruns. The senior also posted a 3.17 ERA with 59 strikeouts and nine victories over 90 2/3 innings pitched.
