Two School Records Broken as Men’s Track Finishes Fifth at ECAC Championships

WESTMINSTER, Md. (5/9/26) – Two school records were broken as the Kean University men's track & field team placed fifth with 80 points at the ECAC Championships hosted by McDaniel College on Saturday.

EVENT HIGHLIGHTS

Ángel David Alarcón Jordán won gold in the 3000M Steeplechase (10:48.75).
Shamil Dixon captured silver in the Discus Throw (43.77m).
Jeremy Chocoj also took home silver in the Triple Jump (13.72m).
Justin McDougald took bronze in the Hammer Throw (43.23m).
John Tan also captured bronze in the Shot Put (13.15m).
Kelvin Molina, Isaiah Smith, Bakari Wiltshire and Jayden Gauda took third in the 4x100 Relay (43.65)
Shamar Williams, Corey Rodriguez, Eldon Reynoso and Najib Robinson placed third in the 4x800 Relay.

RECORD UPDATE

McDougald set a new school record in the Hammer Throw with a distance of 43.23 meters.
He broke the Dave Louis record of 42.45 from the NJAC Championship last weekend.
The relay time of Williams, Rodriguez, Reynoso, and Robinson set a new school record in the 4x800 Relay with a time of 8:34.16
They broke the record set at the ECAC Championships in 2025.
