Sargent’s Game-Winner Lifts Field Hockey Past Arcadia

UNION, N.J. (9/11/26) – Kelseigh Sargent notched the game-winner with 22 seconds remaining to lift the Kean University Field Hockey team to a 4-3 victory over Arcadia University on Friday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED!!!
  • Sophia Candeloro put the Cougars on the board with a loose ball goal in the eighth minute.
  • Kean extended their lead to 2-0 in the second when Madison Brege connected with Ali Stoner in the 20th minute.
  • Megan Sladish and Ashley Avington pulled the Knights even, redirecting two separate shots into the back of the cage.
  • Candeloro put Kean back in front by converting on the Cougars' second penalty stroke attempt of the fourth quarter.
  • Arcadia answered back in the 56th minute with a blast off the penalty corner insert.
  • The Cougars took the lead for good in the final minute when Sargent tapped in a feed from Brege at the far post.
