Field Hockey Rolls Past Wilkes in Season Opener

UNION, N.J. (9/2/26) – Shannon Conroy finished with three assists as the Kean University field hockey team rolled to a 6-1 victory over Wilkes University in their 2026 season opener on Wednesday.

HOW IT HAPPENED!!!
  • Conroy assisted on the lone goal of the first half as Kean took a 1-0 lead into the break.
  • Kelseigh Sargent tapped in a Conroy blast from just inside the circle in the eighth minute.
  • The second half saw five goals, including two from Ali Stoner, and one apiece from Sophia Candeloro, Conroy and Sargent.
  • Conroy opened the second half scoring as the grad student pocketed a Stoner pass from the stroke spot in the 31st minute.
  • Candeloro found the scoresheet in the 36th minute, creating space off the dribble before firing a shot into the far corner.
  • Conroy returned the favor to Stoner, assisting on both of her goals in the 41st and 49th minutes.
  • Sargent capped off the night by tapping home a feed from Kylee Durso inside the circle.
