One Record Broken as Men’s Track & Field Competes at Rider Invitational

LAWRENCEVILLE, N.J. (4/18/26) - One school record was broken as the Kean University men's track and field team competed in the Rider Invitational hosted by Rider University for the two-day event on Friday and Saturday.

EVENT HIGHLIGHTS
  • Ángel David Alarcón Jordán took third in the 3000M Steeple Chase (10:57.95).
  • Shamil Dixon finished fourth in the Discus Throw (43.49m).
  • Justin McDougald placed fourth in the Hammer Throw (39.57m).
  • Quincy Nelson took sixth in the High Jump (1.70m).
  • David Louis finished fifth in the Javelin Throw (38.76m).
  • Jeremy Chocoj posted a seventh-place finish in the Long Jump (6.16m).
  • John Tan tallied a bronze in the Shot Put (13.57m).
  • Chocoj finished fourth in the Triple Jump (13.13.m).
RECORDS UPDATE
  • Justin McDougald set a new school record in Hammer Throw with a distance of 39:57m.
  • McDougald broke Ron Quacquarini record of 37.98m at the Osprey Open in 2009.
