Kean Jersey City Women's Soccer Falls to Bard, 3-0

Box Score ANNADALE-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. - The Kean Jersey City women's soccer team suffered its first loss of the season on Tuesday, September 1 when they fell to Bard, 3-0.

Kean Jersey City (1-1) tallied 7 shots with three forcing a save. Gabriella Cardona paced the team with two shots on frame while Beatriz Oliveira Dos Santos and India Berman added two shots each. Jessica Martin was busy for 90 minutes and made eight saves.

Bard (1-0) peppered the Cougars with 21 shots, 11 on frame, and beat Martin on three occasions. Nikki Magnozzi led the team with five shots, three on frame, and one goal.

Brooke Egrestis opened the scoring in the 25th minute when Mahlia Slaiby found her in the box for the games opening goal. The Cougars' defense stood firm against the Raptors' attack for the remainder of the half and carried a 1-0 deficit into halftime.

The Raptors broke through for a second time at the 57:19 mark when Carmen Merrick took a pass from Georgia McCauley to sneak a shot by Martin to double their lead. The final tally came in the 72nd minute off of the foot of Magnozzi to secure the win.
