Roman Earns First USCAA Player of the Week Honor

PITTSBURGH, Pa. – Kean Jersey City women's soccer sophomore Somaia Roman earned her first United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) Player of the Week honor, as announced on Tuesday.

Roman turned in a dominant offensive performance in the Cougars' 12-1 victory over Bucks County Community College, scoring four goals and adding an assist to help lead Kean Jersey City to its second win of the season.

Roman was highly efficient throughout the contest, recording seven shots with six finding the frame. Her 9-point performance helped fuel the Cougars' offensive outburst and move Kean Jersey City to 2-2 on the season.

Following the victory, Kean Jersey City climbed to fourth in the USCAA Division I standings.

The Cougars return to action on Wednesday, September 23, when they travel to Randall's Island in New York, N.Y., to face John Jay College. Kickoff is scheduled for 3:45 p.m.
