Kean University

By the time he put a lid on his dazzling soccer career at Kean, Carlos Conceicao was second on the school's all-time scoring list in career points (130), career goals (55), and first in goals in a season (22).

In addition, he also set school marks with seven goals and 16 points in one game versus Monmouth College (now University) in 1973.

After leading the New Jersey State College Athletic Conference in scoring in 1974, Conceicao was an easy first-team All-Conference choice, an honor he repeated in 1975. He was an honorable mention All-NJSCAC selection as a freshman in 1973. The team captain in 1975, Conceicao was also a two-time All-Region pick.

In Conceicao's four seasons, the squad fought to a 36-17-8 record, capturing its first-ever conference crown in 1973 and earning a spot in the Eastern College Athletic Conference Tournament in 1974, the first postseason berth in the program's history. Twice in his career the program set a new school standard for victories in a season.

In 1975, Conceicao was drafted by Dallas of the North American Soccer League but elected to finish out his soccer career at Kean.

Conceicao earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science from Kean in 1978.
