As a senior in 1989, Dasti earned All-American honors after battling to a second-place finish in the NCAA Championships. For the year, he posted a 38-8 record and claimed his lone New Jersey Athletic Conference title, as well as a second-place finish in the Metropolitan Championships. In addition, Dasti claimed his second King's College Invitational Championship, when the Cougars ended the season as the tenth-ranked Division III team in the country.

Dasti enjoyed an almost equally outstanding junior campaign, finishing his season with a sterling 32-4-1 mark and recording a third-place finish in the NCAA Championships. All four of his losses came against the eventual NCAA 118-pound champion. The runner-up in the Metropolitan Championships, Dasti also won individual titles in the Hunter College and King's College Invitationals. For the year, the Cougar grapplers won a school-record 20 matches en route to a No. 20 ranking in Division III.

As a sophomore, Dasti was voted the team's Most Dedicated Wrestler after claiming the Hunter College Invitational individual title and qualifying for the NCAAs. He was named Kean's Most Valuable Wrestler in 1988 and 1989.

Dasti led his teams to a combined record of 47-25-1 during his four seasons, captaining them in 1988 and 1989.

Dasti earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in recreation management from Kean in 1989 and added a master's of education from Norwich University in 1993 while serving as a graduate assistant in football and wrestling at that school.
