It's not easy to determine whether Anatoly "Tony" Ochrimenko is in the Hall of Fame on the basis of his excellence on the soccer pitch, or due to his years of expertise on the sidelines as the program's head coach. It is clear, however, that no one has done more over the course of the last quarter century to shape and influence the success enjoyed by the men's soccer team at Kean.
In his two years as a player for the Squires (now Cougars), 1974 and 1975, Ochrimenko served as team captain, was named All-New Jersey State College Athletic Conference (NJSCAC), All-State and a Regional All-American.

He led Kean to a 9-1-4 record in 1974, propelling them to their initial NJSCAC title. The following season, the club posted an 11-2-3 mark, its best ever, and made its debut postseason appearance in the Eastern College Athletic Conference Tournament. Ochrimenko captured team Most Valuable Player honors both years. He capped his stellar collegiate career by competing in the East-West Senior Bowl.

In honor of his excellence on the pitch, Ochrimenko was presented with the 1974 D'Angola Award, conferred annually to Kean's outstanding male and female student-athlete.

For Ochrimenko, however, this is hardly half the story. Since being named head coach of the men's soccer program at Kean in 1976, Ochrimenko has led the Cougars to a level of sustained excellence that is the envy of many clubs, as well as the standard for other Kean teams.

He has won well in excess of 400 games during his prolific coaching career, including the NCAA Division III National Championship in 1992. Ochrimenko has also captured numerous NJAC Coach of the Year awards.

Ochrimenko earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in recreation administration from Kean in 1975.
