Hall of Fame
Neil J. Greco is one of a number of Kean student-athletes from his era to pull double duty in both football and lacrosse, but one of a select few to excel in each.
The football program's debut All-New Jersey State Conference Athletic Conference selection and a star offensive guard from 1971 through 1974, Greco was a second team pick in 1972 and 1973, and received a first team nod in as a senior in 1974. A four-year starter, he was a leader on the 1974 squad that posted an 8-2 mark, the best record the program had managed to that point.
A standout lacrosse player as well, Greco was an integral part of the 1974 team that won the school's first-ever Knickerbocker Conference Championship. That team, with a 7-5 record, also participated in the Eastern College Athletic Conference Tournament, the program's initial postseason appearance.
Greco was listed in the 1973-1974 edition of Who's Who in College Athletics, and was the recipient of the 1974 D'Angola Award, presented annually to Kean's outstanding male and female student-athlete.
Greco earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in physical education from Kean in 1975.
