A four-year star for the Kean lacrosse team, Edd Mitzkewich had a knack for putting the ball in the net. The three-time All-Knickerbocker Conference selection left the program as its all-time leader in goals (62) and points (76) for a midfielder.

Just the second Kean player to be selected to compete in the prestigious North-South game in 1977, Mitzkewich helped lead the Squires (now Cougars) to three winning seasons out of four from 1974 through 1977. They included the first two Knickerbocker Conference titles in school history, in 1974 and 1975, and its first Eastern College Athletic Conference appearance, in 1974.

Mitzkewich tallied 23 goals and six assists as a senior for the 7-6 squad.
After graduating from Kean, Mitzkewich played club lacrosse for three years. He also coached at Vorhees High School and Hunterdon Central High School, as well as Readington Township Middle School.

Mitzkewich earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology from Kean in 1979.
