Kean University

Though he played only two years of baseball at Newark State College (now Kean University), Patrick Geroni's accomplishments will long be remembered. Though he was a fine pitcher and third baseman for the Squires (now Cougars), Geroni was primarily recognized for his batting exploits.

His .333 career average includes 30 runs scored, 52 hits and 34 runs batted in, the second-highest career total in school history. His three triples were also good for second on the school career charts.

As a senior in 1972, Geroni etched four single-season batting records, including a .432 average, 35 hits, six doubles and 24 runs batted in. A first team All-New Jersey State College Athletic Conference selection that year, he led the Squires to a 10-9 record, the program's first winning season in a decade.

In 1971, Geroni struck out 50 batters, placing him second on the single-season charts.
Geroni earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in physical education in 1972.
