Patrick Ippolito was selected from the “Special Contribution to the University” category after manning numerous positions during his time at the University, including men’s soccer coach, professor, assistant to the President, Vice President for Student Affairs and membership on the Faculty Senate.  Ippolito’s involvement with athletics dates back to when he was a player on the first intercollegiate soccer team at then Newark State College.

His most impactful run happened over the 20 years he oversaw student affairs as the athletic department grew in scope and size adding programs such as women’s lacrosse, women’s soccer, men’s and women’s track and cross country as well as the purchase of East Campus.  Since 2002, he has served as an associate professor and coordinator of the Elementary Education Program at Kean.
