Kean University

Among the pantheon of Kean University athletic greats, only Jill Demark holds the unique distinction of being the school's sole student-athlete to be a starter and major contributor on both an NCAA Division III basketball Final Four team as well as on a College World Series softball squad.

In her three seasons (1985-1988) on the hardwood, Demark led the Cougars to an astounding 73-14 record, including three New Jersey Athletic Conference championships, three NCAA Tournaments, and the 1987 Final Four. A two-time second team All-NJAC pick, Demark won the Coaches Award following the 1986-1987 season, and served as team captain the next year. She led the Cougars in assists in her final two campaigns.

Demark enjoyed a similar level of success on the diamond from 1985 through 1987, and again in 1989, receiving All-Region and All-NJAC accolades in 1987 and 1989. She set several single season and career offensive records, including runs scored (37 in 1986), walks in a season (18 in 1986) and career (58), and at bats in a season (136 in 1986). She led her team to the 1986 College World Series, the first in school history, and batted .337 the following year as the captain, driving the Cougars to the Eastern College Athletic Conference Championship. A defensive standout as well, Demark never posted a fielding percentage below .950 throughout her career.

Demark earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in health/physical education from Kean in 1989.
